Dr. Ambreen Fatema is a Technical Officer at ICMR–Regional Medical Research Centre Sri Vijaya Puram, WHO reference centre for diagnosis and training of leptospirosis. She has expertise in clinical microbiology and public health research. She is dedicated to improving kidney health outcomes through advanced diagnostics and epidemiological studies. Dr. Fatema has contributed to research on leptospiral reinfection, risk factors for chronic kidney disease (CKD), and disease surveillance in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Her work aims to translate laboratory innovations into accessible diagnostic solutions for resource-limited communities, supporting early detection and improved patient care.
