Dr. Kavita Vishwakarma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Pimpri, Pune. She also serves as the Incharge of the Tobacco Cessation Centre at DPU. Her professional interests include Sustainable Development Goals (with a focus on environmental health, adolescent and women’s health, and nutrition), as well as innovation in medical education. In addition to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, she has contributed to enhancing the implementation of the Family Adoption Program.

Dr. Vishwakarma has good experience of community-based research, medical education, and institutional research. She has been recognized with several awards, including the Innovative Teaching Award (2024), and has contributed three chapters to the IAPSM textbook National Health Programs and Policies of India in a Nutshell. She has published 15 research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
