FARE Fellow (Post doctoral)
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur
I am working in the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. My research focuses on neuromuscular junction (NMJ) biology and the molecular mechanisms driving neurodegenerative diseases. During my Ph.D., I identified early NMJ dysfunction in Lafora disease and investigated therapeutic approaches targeting glycogen dysregulation and inflammation-driven degeneration. I also worked on identifying and testing small molecules for glycogen storage diseases. In addition, I have experience in molecular biology, electrophysiology, imaging, primary cell culture, and neurological disease models, including Lafora and Huntington’s diseases.
I am interested in translational neuroscience and in developing ideas that can directly benefit patients. Through the India RISE Fellowship, I hope to strengthen my leadership skills, learn from other fellows, and build collaborations that support my growth as a scientist.
