DST INSPIRE Faculty
Indian Institution of Technology (IIT), Kanpur

Dr. Shreya Mehrotra is a pioneering researcher in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, blending creativity and precision across biomaterials, 3D bioprinting, and microfluidic organ-on-chip systems. She completed her Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), followed by postdoctoral training at IIT Kanpur, where she honed her translational research skills. As a Fulbright Fellow at the MIT–Harvard Division of Health Sciences and Technology, she explored innovative bioprinting approaches to engineer functional human tissues. Now a DST-INSPIRE Faculty at IIT Kanpur, Dr. Mehrotra leads research that merges advanced biofabrication with microengineering to create organ-on-chip platforms that model disease, evaluate drugs, and advance regenerative therapies. Her work has earned notable awards, high-impact publications, and recognition in Indo–U.S. translational research collaborations.
